I've been really busy just trying to balance everything out up here still. I don't work too much, so that's pretty good. But my teacher's seem to like putting their tests all on the same week, so that's not.

Things are going pretty well so far. I got an A on my second Government test! And I took my second Health test today! And I'm pretty confident that I aced that one too. Monday is busy...Oceanography and Math tests plus an in-class Government essay =/

This Saturday I'm trying out for a local independent guard. I'm not sure how it's going to pan out but all I'm concerned about is just meeting some people in the area that I have more in common with. After that (hopefully) James and I and our friend Mike are heading to Orlando so I can meet up with my friends that I haven't seen since the summer! It's one of the girls birthday too so I really hope I can go.

I'm trying to volunteer at a no-kill animal shelter in town. But since it's way out of the way, it may be difficult without a car. But my roommate might end up doing it too =] She and I have talked a lot more now and we're starting to gel together. Her birthday is Saturday...but she's diving so she won't be here anyway!

I'm going to my first Zumba class in a couple hours! So I'm hoping that will be fun too! I'm really excited about how everything is going lately. I'm really working on building my confidence up. I don't know why but I haven't been as social as I used to be in high school and I'm finding it harder to make friends. But, I'm trying to be more chill and outgoing at work and this class should be really fun and energetic.

Also, I'm getting very involved in watching the news and knowing what's up with the candidates. Which is awesome...except now I'm getting super nervous about the election! It's so soon and I hate imagining what could happen if Obama loses =O ...oh Lord, yeah not going there hahaha.

AND! Most importantly of course...James and I are at a loss on ideas for Halloween costumes. Do we go the cheesy route and match? Or do we go separately and fend for ourselves? Other than that we just can't think of anything to begin with. Any ideas are greatly appreciated =]

Yeah, pics are coming eventually...meh.

<3!

BTW

That Government test on Friday? I am so very tired of the words "study, quiz, lecture," and "test." Sorry Heather if those quotation marks were unnecessary. I think they are =P

Today though, tops it all off. I failed so hard, it's not even funny. Or at least it wasn't this morning. Last night I decided that I needed a break. I deserved it, believe me, I've been studying all week! So I joined the fella and some friends to see the newest Indiana Jones at FSU for free. Movie gets out, we vote on Rock Band, it gets late, we vote on me NOT going on the bus full of drunk people (thank God), and I spend the night over at James' dorm.

I had it ALL PLANNED OUT. Wake up, catch the bus (skip math, I've taught it to myself already and I feel like I'm getting a cold...I have 3 days that I could skip and I'm taking my first one now.), and get to school in time for Oceanography.

I'll tell you something about these buses folks...they are NOT reliable. I wait...and wait...and guess what? Wait some more. No bus that goes through Pensacola (aka my street). Finally I get on a bus (after my Oceanography class has started mind you!) and have to transfer buses to get back to my place (which takes another half an hour of waiting). I get home, FREAK OUT, take a shower and study my little butt off some more for my Government test.

But you know what? I KNOW (not think or feel or have a hunch-know) that I aced that Government test. And that was the most important part about today.

Over the past seven hours I've gone through every emotion possible I think. But I've finally come to realize, that I made a mistake in my planning, and that happens to everyone. I missed a class (well two but one was on purpose) but I'm not the only college student (let alone college Freshman) to have done that. All that matters is I didn't give up entirely and as a result, I aced my first Government test.

So, I know I'll be getting parental and sororial criticism, and remarks of how irresponsible this all was. But honestly, I'm proud of how today worked out. I had my very first absolutely crappy day of classes, and look how it ended.

Note: this is not to say "hey, it worked out this time. I'm going to do this every week!" I'm just saying, it's not as bad as it could have been.

That is all =]

...and those pictures of the apartment are on the way, but as you've read, I've had a little bit more on my mind than that lately.

<3Caity

Crafty Lady

Alright, trying to do some little crafts in my spare time so I don't go cuckoo bananas over here.

Here's my first attempt at cheap-o crafts! How awesome is that? I can't wait. I was so lucky to have the exact hours available that they were looking for. They even hired me with no experience so I think that must mean I finally figured out how to be outgoing and quirky to an employer I've never met before.

My first shift is tomorrow night (from 5-11) so it should be exciting...but not too much, since he said it's not usually too busy on Labor Day for some reason.

And I'm now realizing I only have one shirt appropriate for this job...Dang it. Give me a second here, I promise it will make sense. Once it’s all said and done, the only thing on my mind is jumping in the lake back at my Aunt and Uncle’s house. Of course, the drive there is always just long enough to catch a nap and cool down.

By the time I get to the lake…I think to myself, “Well why don’t I just take a shower and stay inside.” But that would be taking the easy way out. My other option is to jump in the lake that usually ends up being surprisingly cold.

But the thing about the lake is that no matter how cold it is and terrifying to even think of that chill, it feels amazing once you get used to it.

So, I have decided to jump in the lake. Do you follow? I could have just stayed home and not challenged myself. Instead I’m going on an adventure that at first, no doubt, feels terrifying.
BUT! I had my first day of classes today! (...that text above was written a little bit before I had the internet required to post it.) It was not so bad actually. The anticipation for class was worse than the class itself mostly. Other than meeting a few crazies (what McNally doesn't?) it was perfectly fine. I think I should be able to blow this pop-sickle stick (is that the saying?) in no time =]

Copper Boom!

<3Caity

Fay Hates Florida

So here I am, planning on enjoying my last three days in Melbourne, when a tropical storm decides to make a visit. I wasn't planning on reminiscing with hurricanes before I left. I was actually hoping to see friends instead. Maybe pull one last all-nighter watching movies and remembering how crappy middle school and high school were.

But no, instead I'm stuck in the house surrounded by water and bored out of my mind. Hanging out with anyone is no longer an option because of the fact that most of our roads are now canals. So now all I can really do is pack...and I should pack everything in garbage bags, because it looks like this storm is going to follow me to Tallahassee.

So, thanks Melbourne and goodbye. The past six years have been okay, and this last week has just been sort of stupid.

Stay tuned for when I finally get to Tally and finally miss this boring town for once, or at least the people for sure.
